Finally finished the JMT section from Tuolumne to Whitney last weekend

Took me 3 years of weekend trips to piece it together, but I knocked out the last 40 miles near Bishop. Anyone else done it in chunks like that?

Doesn't it feel like most big things in life end up getting done in pieces like that? We get this idea that everything has to happen in one clean stretch, but real life always throws in a sick dog or a work thing that messes up the timeline. Finishing something years later just proves that steady progress beats waiting for the perfect window every time.

3 years of weekend trips is exactly how I had to do the PCT sections near my place in Oregon. It took me 4 years to finish the stretch from Crater Lake to Ashland because my dog got sick one season and I had to skip a whole year. That feeling of finally standing where you planned to stand years ago is something else, right?
