Wasted $400 on a 'guided' group hike in Yosemite

The guide didn't know the trail past the first mile and we spent 2 hours lost near Nevada Fall. I could've just downloaded AllTrails and done it myself for free. Has anyone else had a guided trip that was totally useless?

Haha right, exactly this. I still remember taking a guided fishing trip in Montana a few years back and the guy managed to steer us into a dead end channel where we were literally stuck in mud for an hour. We ended up having to call his buddy to come tow the boat out. And of course at the end of the day he was standing there with his hand out looking for a tip. I actually did throw him a few bucks just because I felt bad, but it felt so wrong. Like you got us lost dude, that's the opposite of what you're supposed to do.
