I noticed most people put their nesting boxes way too high off the ground
A neighbor lost a hen to egg binding because her box was 3 feet off the ground and the drop was too steep. I keep mine at 18 inches max with a little lip on the edge, and I haven't had a single issue in 2 years. Has anyone else seen problems from tall boxes?

Used to think higher was better for predator protection. Your point about the drop height makes total sense though, that's enough to get me to lower mine this weekend.

Yeah same here, didn't realize lower was better until i almost lost a bird to a hawk last month.
