Pro tip: I thought the 'chicken swing' was a silly gimmick until I saw my flock use it for hours.
I built a simple one from a scrap 2x4 and some rope after a video from a keeper in Portland, and now it's their favorite spot to chill. Anyone else have a simple coop addition their birds went nuts for?

Agree with miller.jason that chickens are simple creatures. They get bored of new stuff fast, just like a new toy for a dog. I put a cinder block in my run and they treated it like a throne for a week, now they don't care. The swing might be fun now, but it's probably just the latest thing. Why spend time building when they'd be just as happy with a pile of leaves?

Are we really overthinking chicken furniture now? It's a piece of wood on a string. My birds have a whole yard and they still fight over a dumb cardboard box. They'll play with anything new for a day. Seems like a lot of effort for something they'll ignore by next week.
