PSA: Took me three days to figure out my new coop was rat-proofed wrong
Built a nice raised coop with 1/2 inch hardware cloth all around the run. Still found rat droppings inside after a week. Turns out I missed a gap under the nesting box access door, only about a quarter inch high. They were squeezing right in. Anyone else have a sneaky entry point they totally missed?

Classic. They always find the one spot you didn't think they could fit.

Honestly, it's a squirrel. They're not exactly master criminals. Maybe we're overthinking a bird feeder.

Wait, are we talking about the same thing? I saw a squirrel squeeze through a gap in a bird feeder the size of a quarter. How is that even possible? Their whole body looked too big for the hole. It's like they turn into liquid.
