I switched from a metal bowl to a plastic tub for my sourdough starter and it's way more active now.

I think the plastic keeps the temp more stable, maybe it's just me but my loaves have been way better since the change. Anyone else notice a big difference with their starter container?

My starter lived in a fancy glass jar for years and was so lazy. I switched to an old takeout container last month and it's like I gave it a double espresso. The thing practically climbs out of the tub now. I guess my starter just needed to live in something as cheap and functional as my own kitchen philosophy.

Totally get that, @ward.piper. Mine did the same thing when I ditched the fancy crock for a basic plastic bowl, it just went nuts.

Mine took off too when I switched from a mason jar to a yogurt tub.
