Hit up a buddy's battlestation in Austin last weekend and noticed something odd about his desk setup

He's got this massive 49 inch ultrawide monitor but his chair is an old wooden dining chair with no padding. Two months ago he dropped $1,200 on the screen but won't spend $200 on a decent chair. On one hand I get it, the monitor looks amazing for games. But on the other hand his back is going to be wrecked in six months. Which side do you fall on, do you put your money into the screen or the chair first?

Nah, @the_jana's got it right. Screen's useless if you can't sit through a gaming session without your back giving out.

Honestly, chair first every time. I sat in a wooden chair for like two weeks waiting for my new one to ship and my lower back was screaming at me. Your buddy is gonna be so focused on that beautiful screen he won't realize he's wrecking his spine until it's too late. A $200 chair from Staples beats a $1200 monitor if you can't sit in front of it for more than an hour.
