Just noticed a new bike parking spot downtown my old route totally missed
I stumbled on a covered rack behind the library on 5th street yesterday that holds 20 bikes easily, has anyone else found a hidden gem like that near their work?

Honestly the covered rack behind the library on 5th street is a solid find. I found one behind the old post office on 3rd that holds maybe 15 bikes and has a roof. Those hidden spots are gold compared to the crowded racks out front.

Nah, hidden spots are legit because most people don't bother to look. The library rack on 5th has been empty every time I've ridden by, even in bad weather. You just gotta know which ones actually work and skip the leaky ones.

Yeah, "gold compared to the crowded racks out front" is exactly the problem. Those hidden spots stay empty because nobody knows about them. So you get there, think you found a hack, and then someone's already locked their cargo bike to the only post. Or the roof leaks in one corner. Meanwhile the front racks fill up with commuters at 8am, and by noon you're circling blocks anyway. I'd rather just deal with the crowded rack and know I'll get a spot than gamble on some secret spot that might be full.
