That one rainy week where everything went right on my commute

Last Tuesday it was pouring and I thought I'd be miserable, but I finally tried those fenders I'd been ignoring in the garage and my back stayed totally dry the whole 8 miles... Has anyone else had a piece of gear suddenly make a bad weather ride feel almost easy?

Fenders are one of those things you don't realize you needed until you try them. Total game changer in my book.

Totally agree. It's the difference between getting to your destination feeling fresh versus looking like you went swimming in your clothes. Before I got fenders, I'd have to plan my whole route around puddles and wet roads, always scanning ahead for that stray water bottle someone dropped. Now I just ride through anything without a second thought. And the best part is not having that gross stripe of road grit up your back. Makes a huge difference for commuting, especially when you're trying to show up somewhere looking halfway decent.
