Took me 3 dead finches to realize my feeder was too close to the glass
Had the feeder mounted 4 feet from the sliding door for over a year. Saw a bird hit the window, bounce off, and hit another window on the way down. That's when I finally moved it to 15 feet out and haven't had a single strike since. How far away do you guys place your feeders?

Used to think people were overreacting about window strikes until I watched a chickadee hit my glass and drop like a rock. Moved my feeder out 12 feet the next day.

That's rough. Yeah seeing it happen yourself really changes your perspective in a hurry. Good call moving the feeder, birds are just too fragile for that stuff.
