My weekly game group in Cincinnati fell apart after a huge fight over a house rule in Twilight Imperium.
It started when Steve insisted we use a custom scoring track he printed, which led to a three hour argument that ended with him packing up his pieces and leaving, so has anyone managed to salvage a group after something like that?

Three hours over a custom scoring track? It's a board game, not a peace treaty. Just tell Steve to leave his printer at home next time and play the actual rules.

Wait, is the problem the custom track or Steve's printer? In my group, a good custom scorepad actually speeds things up by making the math clear. The three hours probably came from arguing about the rules or taking long turns. A printed aid can't cause that on its own, it just sits there. Maybe the real issue is how Steve introduces his house rules, not the paper itself.
