PSA: The fancy grocery store near me marks down meat at 10 AM not 7 PM
I went to that trendy organic market downtown thinking I'd score cheap steaks at 7 PM like everyone said on here. Got there and the meat case was already picked clean with nothing marked down. Finally asked the butcher and he laughed said they do markdowns right when they open at 10 AM because the morning rush buys it all up. Now I drag myself there on Saturday mornings and grab ground beef for $2.50 a pound. Anyone else find their store does markdowns way earlier than the usual evening time?

That's rough but honestly sounds about right. My local co-op does the same thing, they put out the markdowns around 9:30 AM and the nice stuff is gone by noon. I showed up at 5 PM one time for a pack of ribeyes and felt like an idiot. Ground beef for $2.50 is a solid score though, I've been grabbing their marked up chicken thighs around 11 AM and freezing them for later.
