Can we talk about using a single pen for your whole bullet journal
I tried using just a black Pilot G2 for everything after my collection of 20 pens was making me waste time choosing colors, and now my daily logging is twice as fast, but I miss the visual coding - what's your take on minimal supplies versus creative tools?

Totally get missing the visual coding! I started using just a black pen but added a single highlighter for urgent tasks. It keeps things fast but gives me that one bit of color. The middle ground works better for me than all or nothing.

See, that's where I'm different. For me, the second I open a highlighter, it's a slippery slope. One color turns into three, and then I'm spending more time picking colors than doing the work. I've found going all black and white is the only way to keep my brain from getting distracted by the coding itself. The speed comes from not making any of those extra decisions at all.

My buddy Mark went through this exact thing. He had this whole rainbow of pens for his work notes, said it helped him sort ideas. Then he spent ten minutes just picking colors for a simple meeting agenda. He switched to one blue pen cold turkey. His notes look like a boring textbook now, but he finishes them in half the time. He says he misses the old system, but he can't argue with the clock.
