Our inventory system went from chaos to smooth in 3 months and here's what I learned
I manage operations for a small warehouse in Phoenix and we were having 20+ order errors every week. Switched from paper logs to a simple barcode scanner system last April and now we're down to maybe 2 mistakes per month. The key was training the crew on the new process over 2 weeks instead of just handing them the scanners. Has anyone else seen a huge drop in errors after switching to barcodes?

Hold on a sec, I gotta gently push back on something. You said you switched from paper logs to barcode scanners, but barcode scanners still use paper logs in a way if you're printing labels. The real shift is from manual data entry to automatic scanning, which cuts out typing mistakes. We did the same thing at my shop, but the key is making sure the labels stick and are easy to read. If your labels get all crinkled or the printer jams, it messes everything up. Sounds like you nailed the training part though, that's where most places drop the ball.
