That quick chat with a warehouse lead that saved my week

I was stuck on a shipping bottleneck last Wednesday at our Atlanta distribution center, and a guy named Marcus on the loading dock showed me how he stacks totes by weight instead of order number. He said 'just do the heavy stuff first' and it cut my loading time by 15 minutes that afternoon. Has anyone else gotten a random tip from a team member that just clicked?

A buddy of mine runs a small tool repair shop and got a tip from one of his customers who used to work in a factory. The guy told him to sort his tools by how often they get used instead of alphabetically. He said it cut down his search time by a ton and now he swears by it.

@coleman.jamie That makes a lot of sense. I had a similar setup with my dog grooming tools for a while. I sorted them by how often I grab them, not by name. Still ended up losing my favorite clipper blade for three weeks under a pile of towels though. So maybe the system works better if you don't also have a golden retriever shedding directly into your tool box every afternoon. Glad your buddy found something that clicks.
