Question about my $200 boning knife I ruined
I dropped my expensive boning knife on the tile floor at work last Tuesday and it chipped the tip badly. Tried to grind it down myself on a whetstone but now the blade is uneven and feels wrong in my hand. Anyone else had to get a pro to reshape a knife after a drop?

$200? That's wild. I've never spent more than $60 on a knife myself, and I've had some of them for twenty years. Can't imagine dropping that kind of money on something you use all day just to break it like that.

Oh man, it's like everything these days. People drop crazy cash on stuff thinking price equals quality. I've seen $300 boots fall apart in six months while $50 boots last years. Same with tools. Kitchen stuff too. It's like we're paying for the name and the hype not the actual thing.

@wren_rodriguez Exactly. Same thing happened to my $150 chef's knife. Nothing but pain.
