Vent: My whole week got messed up because of a bad saw blade
I was breaking down a side of beef at my shop in Tacoma last Thursday when my main band saw blade just snapped. It was a 144-inch Olson blade I'd only used for about two weeks. Had to stop everything, order a new one, and lost almost a full day of work. What brand of blades do you guys trust for heavy, daily use?

Man that's the worst... had a similar thing happen with a cheap blade on my old saw. What finally worked for me was switching to a Lenox blade. They cost more up front but I've been running the same one for months now with heavy use. It just holds its edge way longer and doesn't seem to get as stressed. Might be worth the extra money to avoid another lost day.

Used to buy the bargain bin blades every time. Figured a saw blade was a saw blade. Burned through three in a week trying to cut some old pressure treated lumber. The heat and binding just killed them. Switched to a better brand on a buddy's advice and it was night and day. That single blade chewed through the rest of the job and still cuts straight.

Yeah, that's the thing with cheap tools. You end up paying more in time and hassle than you saved on the price tag. It's like that with a lot of stuff now.
