I finally got my drawer slides to line up perfectly after a year of messing them up

For the past year, my inset drawers always had a tiny bit of wiggle or wouldn't close flush, no matter how careful I was with my measurements. Last week, I started using a story stick for the whole cabinet box and slide layout instead of measuring each piece, and the difference was night and day. Has anyone else found a simple trick that fixed a problem you'd been fighting for ages?

Honestly, a whole year for drawer slides sounds like a lot of stress over a tiny gap.

I used to be in the same boat, thinking close enough was fine for drawers. That tiny wiggle drove me nuts on every project. Switching to a story stick was a total game changer for getting things exact. It seems so simple now, but it makes all the difference for a clean fit.

Don't sleep on @patel.daniel's point, a year is too long to obsess over a 1/16 gap.
