Label maker I laughed at 3 years ago is my best purchase now

I used to think label makers were for organized freaks but after spending 20 minutes behind my TV trying to figure out which HDMI cable went to the Roku vs the Xbox I broke down and got one. Now every single cord in my desk cabinet has a label and I can swap stuff in 2 minutes flat instead of playing guessing games. Anyone else have a tool they resisted that totally saved their setup?

So you really don't miss just grabbing a cable and hoping for the best? I get the appeal of labels but honestly I think it can make your brain lazy... after I labeled everything I stopped actually learning where stuff went and then when a label fell off my monitor cable I was completely lost for like 10 minutes. Now I just keep a mental map of my setup and it forces me to stay engaged with how things are connected. Labels feel like a crutch sometimes, especially when you have to peel off old ones or they get greasy and unreadable after a year.
