Had a customer's coax splitter fail after a heavy rain in Charlotte last Thursday

I was out on a service call for a customer losing signal on their main TV. Checked the line and found a cheap splitter mounted outside that wasn't sealed right. Water got into the connector and corroded the center pin. Had to replace the splitter and redo both ends with waterproof compression fittings. Total fix took about 45 minutes but the customer said it's been acting up for 2 months. Anybody else run into outdoor splitters that just don't hold up to weather?

You ever notice how bad weather always finds the one cheap part on the whole line? Replaced one last month that was basically a rusted out cap. Customer swore they bought the "good" one from the hardware store.
