I think zip ties are overrated compared to velcro straps for desk cable management

I see everyone on here using zip ties for their behind-the-desk setups, but I honestly think velcro straps are way better. I spent about 2 hours last weekend redoing my home office setup, and every time I needed to swap a cable or add a new USB cord, I had to cut the zip ties and start over. With velcro straps, I just unhooked them, moved stuff around, and put them back in under 5 minutes. My setup behind the desk has 8 cables total, and using a pack of 20 velcro straps for $8 at Home Depot saved me so much hassle. Has anyone else switched and found velcro easier for when you rearrange things?

Yeah, I felt the exact same way after I swapped cables on my desk for the third time in a month. I was using zip ties for my monitor, PC, and printer cables, and it got annoying having to clip them and grab new ones every time. Picked up a roll of adhesive velcro strips at Walmart for like $6, and it made things way easier. Being able to just peel them off and stick them back when I moved my setup to a different wall was a lifesaver, no messing with cutters or wasting plastic.

The adhesive on those Velcro strips can wear out over time though, especially if you peel them off and stick them back a lot. I've had them lose grip after 3 or 4 moves, so I just buy the roll of plain hook and loop tape without the sticky backing. You can sew or staple them onto cable sleeves, or just wrap them around the bundle itself without adhesive, stays put way longer.
