My buddy swore zip ties were the only way to go for cable management
So I finally decided to clean up the rat nest behind my TV stand last month. My buddy Dave, who builds gaming PCs for fun, told me to just use a ton of zip ties and snip them tight. I followed his advice and spent like 2 hours bundling everything up nice and neat. Looked great for about a week until I had to swap out my HDMI cable for a longer one. Had to cut every single zip tie off with scissors and it took me another hour to redo everything. Now I'm using velcro straps from a $10 pack I grabbed on Amazon and they work way better since I can just undo them whenever. Has anyone else had a cable management tip from a friend that just didn't hold up in real use?

Wait, did anyone else notice that the real issue here is how often you actually need to mess with the cables behind your TV? Like yeah, zip ties work fine if you set everything up once and never touch it again, but most of us swap stuff out way more than we think. That's the thing nobody mentions when they're flexing their super clean builds at a LAN party, they're not the ones who gotta dig behind the entertainment center every time they buy a new streaming box or soundbar. Velcro is the obvious winner for anyone who doesn't live in a museum, lol.
