Wasted 2 hours zip tying my TV wires neat, then my smart TV kept dropping wifi until I untangled them
I spent last Saturday behind my TV running all the cables through these little adhesive clips and twisting zip ties tight so the back looked clean. Then my Netflix kept buffering and my wifi dropped every 10 minutes. I finally unzipped everything and let the HDMI and power cords hang loose again and it worked fine. Turns out I had been choking the router signal by bundling the power brick right next to the antenna cord for months without knowing. Anyone else figure out too tight is worse than just messy?
Two hours with the zip ties and the wifi dies every 10 minutes? That would drive me up the wall. I had no clue a power brick sitting right next to an antenna cord could mess with the signal like that, that seems wild. Guess the back of my TV is staying a tangled mess forever.
I did the same thing with my garden hose last summer, coiled it up tight on one of those wall hangers and the water pressure went to crap. Turned out I was kinking it at the bend without even seeing it. Let it hang loose off a hook and it ran fine.
