That Pentax K1000 mirror lock-up screw took me 4 hours to figure out

I spent an entire Saturday afternoon trying to figure out why the mirror wouldn't stay locked on a customer's camera before realizing the tiny locking screw was just a quarter turn too loose, has anyone else had a simple adjustment turn into a half-day ordeal?

Four hours for a screw? Man, that's brutal.

The thing about screws is they can be real sneaky. My cousin once spent an entire Saturday trying to get a stripped Phillips head out of an old dresser. He tried rubber bands, duct tape, even a little superglue on the screwdriver tip. Nothing worked. Finally he just drilled the whole thing out and filled the hole with a dowel and wood glue. Your mileage may vary but sometimes you just gotta brute force it.
