Figured out a strap trick for my tent last weekend that saved me 20 minutes
I always struggle getting my tent bag tight enough to fit back in the stuff sack, especially after a rainy trip when everything bulges. Last weekend I tried rolling the tent with the poles inside and cinching the straps from both ends instead of just one side, and it packed down way smaller. Anybody else got a weird method for squeezing a wet tent into its bag?

Just throw the whole soaking mess in the trunk and deal with it when you get home, that's my trick. Who actually has the patience to roll a tent perfectly after a long weekend of hiking? I figure if the tent survived the rain it can survive getting shoved into the bag like a stubborn sleeping bag.

Oh man, I feel this so hard lol. What finally worked for me was keeping a dry trash bag in my car specifically for this. Once I get back to the parking lot, I just toss the whole wet tent in there, tie it off, and deal with it in the garage the next day. That way my trunk doesn't smell like a damp swamp for a week. I also started bringing a cheap microfiber towel to wipe down the worst of the water before shoving it in. It's not perfect but it keeps the mildew at bay way better than just raw dogging it in the trunk.
