That night in Shenandoah my stove almost caught the tent on fire

I was camping at Big Meadows in Shenandoah last fall and decided to cook inside the vestibule because it was pouring. Lit my little isobutane stove and within 2 minutes the whole vestibule filled with smoke from the flame licking the rainfly. I grabbed the canister and chucked it out into the grass, melted a hole the size of my fist in the tent floor. Who else has done something stupid with a stove inside their tent?

Oh man, "chucked it out into the grass" is basically my whole camping MO. Last year I was trying to boil water for coffee inside my tent during a windy night and my stove tipped over, melted a perfect little circle in my sleeping bag. Still have the scar on my hand from grabbing the burner.

Grabbed the burner" oh god I felt that in my soul lol. @xena_miller31 one time I dropped my whole tent pole bag in the dark and spent 20 minutes feeling around for it, only to realize I was patting the grass next to a pile of raccoon poop. Still used the poles though, no regrets.
