Debate: Is dropping $60 on a hot glue gun worth it or a total waste?

I bought a $60 high-temp glue gun from Joann Fabrics last month for a cardboard castle build... it melts through thin box pieces like butter but holds thick layers solid. My buddy says a $10 basic gun does the same job if you're patient, but I think the speed saved my project from collapsing. What's your take - do you splurge on tools for box builds or keep it cheap?

Oh man, I feel this hard. I grabbed a cheap gun for a haunted house set and spent half my time fighting stuff falling apart, finally borrowed my buddy's nicer one and it just worked. Sometimes paying more just saves your sanity, you know?
