Still thinking about what that old mechanic told me in 2019

Guy named Hank at a shop in Tulsa said 'your first tool purchase should be something you can pass down' and I brushed it off until I found his old Snap-On ratchet at a pawn shop last month, anyone else had a random piece of advice stick around way longer than it should have?

Wait, you found HIS actual ratchet at a pawn shop? That's wild, it's like the universe was trying to finish that sentence he started in 2019. I had an old machinist tell me to never trust a used torque wrench and now I eyeball every one I see at flea markets with major side-eye. That's a hell of a way to learn a lesson though, finding his tool out there like that.

Gavin's right about torque wrenches, but I'd still grab that ratchet just for the story value alone. Guess that guy's toolbox really did go on a journey without him.
