That week all my cat memes flopped hard
I spent 4 days crafting a perfect "cat judging my grocery bags" meme. Used a high-res photo, funny font, the works. Posted it here and got 2 upvotes. Then my buddy threw together a blurry screenshot of his cat knocking over a lamp. It got 200 upvotes in an hour. What's the secret sauce for this place because I clearly don't get it.

Haven't you noticed that this place rewards RELATABILITY over quality? People upvote stuff they could have posted themselves, not something that looks professionally made. The blurry lamp photo worked because everyone's cat has done that and it feels like a SHARED experience.

Saw a podcast recently where someone called it the "glue trap" theory - low effort stuff sticks better because nobody feels bad tearing it down. Maybe it's just me but that blurry lamp photo felt like visual junk food, easy to consume and forget. Idk if quality even matters when the whole point is just scrolling and feeling like you're part of something.
