I finally tried those cheap paper soup lids I laughed at, and my leak complaints went to zero
Last month I was packing 40 orders of ramen a night out of my garage in Reno and kept getting 1 star reviews about soggy bags. A supplier rep kept pushing these paper lids with a plastic seal ring and I thought they looked flimsy, like something that would pop off in a hot car. Bought a 200 pack for $18 just to prove him wrong. Three weeks later I have zero leak notes and my bag liners stay dry, which used to never happen. Anyone else running hot soups in paper cups, do the lids hold up on longer drives or am I just getting lucky?
Paper lids are slept on, honestly. Had the same doubt when we switched for our pho cups because the plastic dome ones kept cracking in cold weather and leaking everywhere. The paper plus seal ring combo just doesn't budge, even stacked in a hot trunk for a couple hours. Only thing I'd watch is really oily broths, those can soften the rim a bit after like 45 minutes. For ramen you're fine.
