Pro tip: the $30 thermal bags I swore were a waste actually fixed my cold fry problem
I used to hand deliveries to drivers in plain paper sacks and just hoped for the best. Got tired of the 2 star reviews saying the food showed up lukewarm, so I finally broke down and bought six insulated bags for around $30 total. First night out, a customer messaged me that her burger was still hot when it hit her door in Lincoln. That had never happened before. I figured the bags were just going to be another thing taking up space in my trunk. Nope, my bad review rate went from about 1 in 8 orders down to almost nothing over 3 weeks. Now I keep them zipped shut even for short runs. What are you all using to keep stuff crispy on the drive, because I still get soggy fries sometimes?
Six bags for $30 is a solid deal, where did you pick those up? The thing I keep running into is that a bag keeps heat in but it also traps steam, so fries go soft even when they are still warm. Do you vent the bag at all or toss a paper towel in there, or line it with something? Trying to figure out if the sogginess is a heat problem or a moisture problem.
