That guy at the library who showed me his first webpage
I was staring at a blank VS Code screen at the public library in Portland last month, and this older dude next to me asked if I was stuck. He pulled up his first project from 2018, just a plain HTML page with a blue background and a picture of his cat, and said he spent 3 hours figuring out how to center it. Has anyone else had a random stranger help them get past that initial "what do I even write" feeling?

Man I see this pattern everywhere now. The thing about learning anything new is that first wall where you don't even know what questions to ask. That guy probably remembers how stuck he felt back in 2018, so he saw you and wanted to help you skip past that part. People who have been through that "what do I even do" stage tend to pay it forward because they know how much it sucks. It's like how experienced hikers will stop and give directions to someone who looks lost on a trail, it's just instinct once you've been there yourself.

Oh man that's so true! @kevin_hernandez83 I remember stumbling through learning guitar back in 2015 and some random guy at the music shop spent 20 minutes showing me proper fingering just because he saw that lost look on my face.
