The vibe at my local shop changed a lot in the last year and not for the better
Honestly, I used to go to Comic Cave in Springfield every Wednesday for years. It was a chill spot where you could just talk about stories and art. But over the last 12 months, it's like a switch flipped. Now half the conversations are just people arguing about movie casting rumors or which actor is 'problematic' on social media. I was there last week and a guy spent 20 minutes yelling about how a certain director 'ruined his childhood' because of a cameo in a trailer. It feels like the actual comics are a side note now. The owner told me he's thinking of putting a TV in just to play trailer breakdowns to draw people in. Has anyone else's hangout spot gotten taken over by movie talk instead of comic talk?

Ugh, my shop too. I just nod and stare at the back issues.

My local shop in Brighton actually loves when people browse the back issues... it keeps the place feeling alive. Maybe @blairwhite just needs a more patient customer base. Those old comics are the whole point of the store.
