That silt cleanup in Norfolk took me 6 hours longer than I budgeted for
I figured a simple debris removal would be maybe 4 hours, but the vis dropped to zero as soon as I kicked up the bottom silt. Anyone else run into a job where the conditions on paper were a total lie?

Feel your pain on this one... had a similar situation down in Virginia Beach last month where a client swore the drainage ditch was just "leaf litter and a few branches." Turned out to be three feet of compacted mud that had been settling for years. The paper said easy removal, but reality was me knee-deep in sludge, losing daylight, and the silt just kept collapsing back in as fast as I scooped it out. Ended up being a two day ordeal when it should've been an afternoon job... sometimes the conditions on site just don't match what anyone tells you ahead of time.

Not sure I buy that. Sounds like you just didn't scope the job right beforehand.
