Told me my thermal paste application was way too thick...
A coworker saw me using the pea method and said I was using double the amount needed, so I switched to a thin spread and my temps dropped 8 degrees on a Ryzen 5 I built last Tuesday.

My buddy put on so much paste it oozed out the sides and shorted his motherboard.
