Rant: That back room at the old library freaked me out for real

Last Tuesday I was helping clear out the basement of this library that's been around since the 60s. Found a door behind some metal shelves that led to this tiny room with stacks of newspapers from 1972 all tied up with twine. There was a weird symbol drawn on the wall in pencil, like a circle with three lines through it. The air was super stale, like nobody opened it in decades. The janitor told me later that room was sealed off back in the 80s after some guy who worked there went missing. Has anyone else stumbled on a hidden room in a public building that gave you the creeps?

Did you check if those papers were still readable? I'd want to know what stories they ran in 1972, especially around the time that guy disappeared. But honestly, you did the right thing by leaving that room alone and telling the janitor. If a place has been sealed that long, there's usually a reason tied to the building's history or safety. That symbol sounds like something someone left as a marker, maybe a counting system or a warning. Next time, snap a photo for documentation but don't go poking around alone. Stale air like that can hold mold or worse, and you don't want to breathe that in.
