Picked up a tip from a painter at the hardware store that saved me 2 hours
I was at Home Depot in Nashville last Tuesday grabbing some drywall mud when an older painter started talking to me in the aisle. He told me to use a 5-in-1 tool to clean my mixing paddle instead of scraping it off by hand. I tried it on my next job and it cut my cleanup time from 15 minutes to about 3. Has anyone else run into random strangers giving gold like that?

Honestly, that's so true about random tips from older guys at hardware stores. I once had a mechanic at a gas station tell me to use a specific kind of paint thinner for cleaning my brushes instead of the expensive stuff I was buying. It worked way better and cost like half the price. Ngl, it's kinda like a secret handshake or something, you gotta be in the right place at the right time to get these tricks. Tbh that painter probably saved you from a lot of back ache too, scraping mud off by hand is brutal on the wrists. I always end up listening to anyone who looks like they've done a thousand jobs before.
