Compared a $7 drugstore shampoo to my $40 salon brand and couldn't tell a difference after a month
I used the cheap stuff on my left side clients and the expensive on the right for four weeks at my chair in Omaha, and honestly the shine and softness were nearly identical, has anyone else run this kind of blind test with their regulars?

Couldn't tell a difference" - exactly. Price tags are just hype most of the time, honestly.

Bought a $40 bottle of olive oil last month thinking it'd make my salads gourmet or something... tasted exactly like the $8 stuff from Aldi. It's the same thing with a lot of things now - fancier packaging and a higher number on the sticker but the real difference is just in your head. I've noticed it most with tools actually, where the mid-range stuff often outlasts the premium brands because the expensive ones are just paying for a name on the box. Marketing people figured out a long time ago that if you charge more, people convince themselves it must be better.
