Just realized something about the lighting in my local grocery store
I was in the produce section of the Kroger on Maple Street yesterday, and I noticed how the cool, bright white lights they use make all the greens look so fresh and vibrant. It made me think about how we light our salon stations. I've been using a warm bulb at my chair for years because I thought it was flattering, but under those grocery lights, I saw the real, crisp color of everything. Now I'm wondering if my warm light is hiding the true tones when I'm doing color corrections. Has anyone else switched to a cooler, brighter light for color work and noticed a big difference?

What brand of cooler bulb did you get?

Oh wow, that's such a good point. I totally used to think the same way, that warm light was just nicer for clients. But I had a similar moment under my bathroom's harsh daylight bulb and saw my own hair color totally differently. I switched my work light to a bright white bulb last month, and it's way easier to spot those brassy tones now.
