My client wanted a color change that would fry her hair, and I had to refuse
A regular came in yesterday asking for a full bleach job to go bright pink. Her ends were already split and weak from box dye she used at home. I told her straight up that her hair might not handle it and could snap off. She got mad and said she'd find another stylist who would do it. I hate losing business, but I can't in good conscience cause damage I know will happen. I suggested a deep condition first and a slower process, but she wasn't having it. She left still angry, and now I'm wondering if I made the right call. Part of me thinks I should have just done it to keep her happy, but my gut says no.

Have you heard about my friend who said no to a client with damaged hair? That client went to another stylist and her hair completely snapped off during the process! Now she's upset but my friend feels relieved she didn't cause that mess.

Wow, your friend made the right call! @jenny_nguyen89, I've been in that same spot before. I refused to color a client's hair because it was so weak from over processing. She got upset and found another salon, but then her hair melted during the service. They had to chop most of it off, and she was devastated. Honestly, saying no saves everyone from a huge mess later on. Does your friend get many clients who don't listen to the warning?
