Switched from a regular blow dryer to an ionic one for my client with thick hair

My client, Sarah, has hair so thick it takes 45 minutes to dry with my old Conair, so I bought a $90 ionic dryer from Sally Beauty last Tuesday. The ionic one cut her dry time down to 25 minutes and left her hair way smoother with less frizz. Has anyone else found a specific tool that totally changed your results on a tough hair type?

Honestly, my cheap dryer is so old it probably adds frizz just by looking at it. That's a huge time save for your client, and smoother hair is a major win. Makes me wonder what else I'm stubbornly using that's just making my job harder.

Seriously, what's the oldest tool you still use every day?

Ever think about the noise level? My old dryer was a jet engine, scared every dog on the block. A client with sensory issues could barely stand it. A quiet tool might not cut time, but it can make the whole experience way less stressful for someone who hates loud sounds. That's a game changer you don't see on the box.
