Warning: A guy at a Denver meetup said 'just ask anything, there are no stupid questions' then laughed at mine.

Paul's right about the mixed message thing. It's like how people say "there's no such thing as a bad time to reach out" but then get annoyed when you text them after 9 PM. Just say what you mean, you know?

My $80 mistake with a 'miracle' wax from a craft fair

Is it really that serious though? I mean soap is soap, right? You lather it up and it gets stuff clean, self-cleaning or not. I can see if you were trying to wax a car or something, but for just washing your hands, I don't think you need to prep the surface or whatever.

New cellular dialer gave me 8 hours of headache

Yeah I feel you man I had almost the exact same thing happen last month with a cellular dialer on a Vista panel. Spent a solid 5 hours fighting with it before I found out the firmware was so old it wouldn't even talk to the app. I drove back and forth to the shop twice because I kept forgetting a cable or the right adapter. Even after updating the firmware through a laptop tether it still threw random errors for another hour. It's like these companies push out half baked hardware and expect us to beta test it on the clock. I've been doing this for years and some of these newer communicators are just a total pain compared to the old landline ones.

Switched from a regular blow dryer to an ionic one for my client with thick hair

Ever think about the noise level? My old dryer was a jet engine, scared every dog on the block. A client with sensory issues could barely stand it. A quiet tool might not cut time, but it can make the whole experience way less stressful for someone who hates loud sounds. That's a game changer you don't see on the box.

That old DSC PC1832 panel in the basement finally gave up the ghost

Scrounging for old parts online feels like a full time job though. You're just kicking the can down the road until the next piece fails. A modern system is way more reliable and actually has support.
