Three hours... man, that's rough but also kinda hilarious. You went full detective mode probably checking cables and drivers for the most complicated issue when it was just some gunk in the way. I've done similar stuff before, spent a whole afternoon reinstalling drivers because my audio was cracking. Turned out I just had to clean the jack with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Feels stupid afterwards but the relief when it works is still worth it.

Ha, yeah exactly! I once spent a whole weekend trying to fix a tower PC that wouldn't turn on. I swapped the power supply, tried different outlets, even tore it down and put it back together. Turns out I just had my finger on the reset switch the whole time. Felt like a genius after that one.
