Hated my fan spread for years until someone showed me a 5 dollar fix
So I've been doing card magic for like 6 years now and my fan spread always looked trash. Cards would clump together or leave gaps no matter what deck I used. I tried different pressure, different grips, even watched like 10 YouTube tutorials. Nothing worked and it was driving me crazy because everything else in my routine was solid. Then this old timer at a local magic shop in Portland told me to just dust the deck with fanning powder. I figured it was some gimmicky thing but I tried it on a broken-in Bicycle deck and the difference was insane. Cards just float apart perfectly now with zero effort. Has anyone else tried fanning powder or do you guys swear by something else for clean spreads?

Oh man, a buddy of mine had the exact same problem. He tried everything and finally just gave up and started doing that snap-open move from the table instead. Then his girlfriend accidentally spilled her makeup powder all over his deck and now it fans like a dream.
