Just watched a deck of cards get absolutely destroyed by humidity

I was at a friend's outdoor BBQ in Orlando last weekend and left my favorite custom deck on the picnic table for 20 minutes. The cards warped so bad they wouldn't even fan, and the tuck box peeled apart. Has anyone else lost a deck to weather like that?
