That $40 LED strip ruined my retro game setup

Bought a cheap LED strip off Amazon to light up my bookshelf with old D&D manuals and CRTs. Within 3 months the adhesive failed and it fell behind my desk, melting a patch of carpet. Spent another $60 on a proper strip with adhesive backing from a hardware store instead. Anyone else stick with name brand lghting for their gaming area or do you risk the cheap stuff?

Oh absolutely, a clean wall makes all the difference for paint to stick right.
