Heard someone say digital art needs 'soul' not just skill... thoughts?
I was in a coffee shop last week and heard this guy saying that hyper-realistic digital portraits are 'empty' compared to traditional painting. He used the name of some famous digital artist I didn't catch, but it got me thinking. On one hand, technical skill in digital tools takes years to build, but on the other, does it really matter if the piece feels cold? Do you think a technically perfect piece can have as much emotion as a rough sketch, or is the medium itself the limit? I'd love to hear where you all land on this.

Read somewhere a rough sketch can hit harder than a polished piece.

Nah, it's just a drawing. Not that deep.
