Sat next to a guy in a Chiang Mai cafe who said he 'works 2 hours a day' and I felt like a fraud for a minute
He was on a Zoom call right next to me, loud enough I could hear him say he only does client check-ins and then spends the rest of his time hiking. I work like 8 hours most days and still feel behind. It got me thinking though - maybe I'm overcomplicating my workflow? I do a lot of busy stuff that probably doesn't matter. He didn't even have a laptop open, just his phone. Has anyone else figured out how to cut their work hours without getting fired?

This whole digital nomad scene in places like Chiang Mai really makes you notice how different people approach work and life. It seems like there's a growing divide between the folks grinding away at busywork and the ones who've stripped their jobs down to just the essential parts. Makes me wonder if the real skill isn't working hard, but figuring out what actually needs to get done.

Read somewhere that 80% of busywork is just people covering their asses.
