Been seeing too many desk decorations that fall apart after a week...

I keep noticing pictures in here where people use regular school glue on their tiny plant pots or pen holders. Last month I tried that myself with a little clay pot I made and after 3 days the whole thing just crumbled into pieces on my desk. I clean houses for a living so I see a lot of cheap fixes that don't hold up to any moisture or movement. Has anyone else had luck with epoxy instead of glue for desk stuff that you actually use?

Hold on @wesley_hart, is losing sleep really the bar we're setting here? Nobody's saying to cancel your weekend plans over a pen holder. I just think if you're gonna bother making something for your desk, it should last longer than a microwave dinner. That's not obsession, that's basic common sense. The original poster asked about epoxy vs glue, and I've had way better luck with epoxy on stuff that actually gets touched. But honestly, if cheap glue and a happy-go-lucky attitude works for you, knock yourself out. Just don't act surprised when that glued pot splits in half during a Monday morning coffee spill.

Is a desk decoration really worth losing sleep over?
