Why does everyone glue their pen holders with hot glue...

I keep seeing folks in here using hot glue for desk organizers and it drives me nuts. I tried that on my first pen cup three months ago and everything fell apart after a week. The glue just pops off when you grab a pen too fast. I switched to E6000 craft glue and that thing is still solid after daily use. Why do people keep recommending hot glue for stuff that gets handled all the time? Has anyone else had better luck with a different adhesive?

Agree to disagree... my hot glue builds are still going strong after months.

Blame the whole “quick fix” culture we live in now. Everyone wants something done in five minutes so they grab hot glue because it melts fast and they can call it done. Nobody stops to think about what actually holds up to daily abuse, they just want the dopamine hit of finishing a project right now. Same reason people use command strips for everything then act surprised when their stuff crashes down at 3am.
